WOOD STOVE ALARM - THERMOSTATIC CONTROLLER
Did you ever wish you had a way to warn you if your flue got too hot or
wanted to know when you needed to add wood without just sitting there watching.
I put this kit together because over the past several years I have done some
dumb or brain dead stuff. In the past 4 years on 3 occasions I lit the wood
stove leaving flue and vents wide open to get it hot, then I got sidetracked,
came back 20 minutes later to find the flue pipe red and the magnetic thermostat
buried at 1100 degrees.
The last time I did this the chimney was making so much noise I thought that the house was on fire. I called the fire department, the chimney overheated but thank God there was no serious damage.
After some research and some new technology I built this flue alarm and I will share the wealth and sell you one too.
Easy Set-Up, internal open / close relay triggers when set temperature is reached. Have it warn you when it is too cold or too hot.
Install info:
Unit can be wired two ways:
Set High Temp - When High Temperature Reached - Alarm Sounds.
Set Low Temp - When Low Temperature is reached - Alarm Sounds
Takes about 10 minutes to hookup.
Setting Temperature takes about 5 Seconds - So you can RE-SET to turn off alarm or mount a on / off switch not included. I do not suggest a on / off switch - in case you forget to turn it on.
This unit will handle a 15 amp load, so you can add a 110v AC Alarm if you want.
